In this engaging two-part session, The GDG On Campus Kabale University and the IndabaX AI Club Kabale University held an event titled “Building Machine Learning Models with Sci-kit Learn: Crafting Final Year Projects.”

The first part, facilitated by Simon Peter Makobi, introduced participants to machine learning fundamentals and guided them through building a basic model for house price prediction using Sci-kit Learn, covering key steps like defining, fitting, making predictions, and evaluating the model. This hands-on approach helped participants grasp the essential tools and concepts needed to develop ML models.

In the second part, Mr. Simon Alex Atwiine, the Assistant ICT Officer at Kabale University, led an insightful session on “Crafting Final Year Projects.” This segment emphasized practical strategies for developing sustainable, impactful projects and aligning technical skills with real-world applications. Both parts highlighted how to harness data science and AI to address pressing challenges, supporting students in crafting meaningful final-year projects.
