Under the theme: Shaping a Future at Peace: Promoting Press Freedom for Human Rights, Development, and Security.
We are honored to host Dr. Charlotte Kabaseke, Dean of the Faculty of Law, as our Guest of Honor for this important occasion. There were staff in attendance, students, and group of participants from the three day boot camp(Holiday Makers) that was organized by the department and other invited guests from different media houses in kabale district.
This year’s theme emphasizes a vital truth, independent journalism is essential for building trust, fostering stability, and sustaining peace. As an academic community, we reaffirm our commitment to upholding freedom of expression and supporting responsible media as pillars of human rights, development, and security.
Let this day serve as a reminder of our shared responsibility to defend truth, encourage meaningful dialogue, and safeguard press freedom both within our university and beyond.
