On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, Kabale University held an impactful, one-day Sensitization and Training Workshop on Journal Selection and Publishing at the New Computer Laboratory, Main Campus.

Jointly organized by the Directorate of Research and Grants and the Directorate of Graduate Training under the directive of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs), the capacity-building session brought together academic and administrative staff. The workshop provided practical knowledge and hands-on guidance across essential areas of scholarly publishing:

• Selecting High-Impact Journals: Identifying reputable journals while avoiding predatory publishers.
• Indexing & Ranking: Understanding journal indexing systems and ranking frameworks.
• Submission to Publication: Best practices for manuscript preparation, navigating the submission process, and boosting publication success rates.
• Academic Footprint: Enhancing institutional research visibility and academic impact.

Led by experts including Dr. Julius Alexander Arinaitwe (Chief, Directorate of Research & Grants) and the Director of Graduate Training, the event reflects Kabale University’s ongoing commitment to fostering robust research capacity and global scholarly engagement.
