Kabale University Hosts Historic E-GP 2.0 Go-Live Activation for Kigezi Region

Today, 9th September 2026 , marked the historic E-GP Go-live Activation launch for Kigezi Region at Kabale University, which attracted many technical stakeholders including the Heads of Departments, Internal Audit, & Procuring and Disposal Unit from Kabale District Local Government, Kabale Municipal Council, Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, and the host, Kabale University.
The occasion was also graced with the presence of the Accounting Officers, who included: Mr. Johnson Baryantuma Munono the University Secretary Kabale University, Mr. Robert Mugabe Chief Administrative Officer Kabale District Local Government, Mr. Ronald Baganzi Town Clerk Kabale Municipal Council, Mr. Innocent Kansiime Chief Accountant Kabale Regional Referal Hospital, who represented Ms. Dr. Anne Marion Namutebi Hospital Director Kabale Regional Referral Hospital.
The Accounting Officers appreciated the new E-GP 2.0 version as a fresh fundamental governance reform in Uganda‘s public procurement, especially in the Kigezi region, since it’s a step in replacing manual processes and providing a common digital environment in which procurement activities are initiated, processed, tracked, and subjected to appropriate controls, with implications for financial management, internal controls, audit, contract management, and public accountability.
The facilitators from the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MOFPED) and Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority included, Mr. Jude Sennonga Function Support Officer MOFPED/Accountant General, Mr.Kenneth Banura Function Support Offcier MOFPED/Accountant General, Ms. Sandrah Byabashaijah Function Support Offcier MOFPED/Accountant General, Mr.Bravo Kaineruhanga B Senior Officer Procurement & Disposal Capacity Building PPDA.
While closing the occasion, Mr. Johnson Baryantuma Munono the University Secretary Kabale University appealed to the stakeholders to embrace the new system that will streamline procurement cycles and further standardize procurement processes across all Procuring & Disposing Entities within Kigezi region.
