Kabale University officially launched the MTN Spark Hub on 23rd April 2026, marking a significant milestone in advancing innovation, digital skills development and entrepreneurship in the Kigezi sub-region. The event brought together key partners, including the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, The MTN Foundation and Centenary Technology Services, alongside university leadership, staff and students.
The launch was graced by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Aminah Zawedde and Prof. William Bazeyo, Trustee on the MTN Foundation Board of Directors, among other distinguished guests. Representatives from Centenary Technology Services, including Mr. Peter Kahiigi, Chief Technology Officer and Mr. Steven Kirenga, Head of Product and Business Development and Customer Experience, were also in attendance. The hub is set to serve as a dynamic ecosystem for nurturing innovation, supporting startups and equipping young people with practical digital competencies to thrive in the modern digital economy.
