Day 1: study dissemination and validation workshops with Indigenous Batwa pupils in Rubanda district.
Among others, the study investigates how the relocation of the Batwa Indigenous people from their natural habitation in the forests influenced their indigenous education, customs, and cultures. It examines the Batwa indigenous pedagogy and its effectiveness in inculcating Batwa custom and culture in their current setting. It also seeks to develop Batwa Indigenous pedagogies as a strategy to promote Batwa cultures and knowledge system through formal education. Lastly, the project aim is to determine models for integrating Indigenous education system into formal education system that built community/schools capacity to enhance the transmission of Batwa customs and cultures in their current setting.
